I´m so excited! I am the captain of my own ship I will bring jewels, gold, silk, cotton and spices form the Indies.
We are departing from Puerto de Palos, my crew members, the three ships the Pinta, the Niña and the Santa María, and Christopher Columbus. I don´t like Columbus.  No one wanted to sign up to go with him on his journey. But when I said I wanted to come, all the other sailors also wanted to go. The crew members are very scared, they think there are monsters in the water.
The sea – men are putting all the food in the ships. I think it is a lot of food because we will be in the Indies in two weeks.
I am very happy that I am going to the Indies! I will be more rich and more famous!

I have the impression that if nothing changes, we could die in the next days. We have little supplies and some of the food is rotten. The sailors are angry, they are afraid that if we don´t turn back to Spain we will fall down the Earth and the monsters will eat us.
Where is land? I am using all the sailing manuals and the quadrant to find out when we will get there. This voyage will be worth it. I know it! I am happy, anxious, exited and tired.
I´m cold, hungry and tired but I also feel perseverant because I am a person who never gives up. I can see a storm coming and I am scared. The ship moves from one side to the other and the crew members are dizzy all the time. Last week we had a storm that lasted three days. Sailors started shouting “We are very young to die!”
Oh! Someone shouted “land ahoy!” We have to get close and see. I wish this time it is true and what he saw is not the line of the horizon like it happened before.

The sand glass says it is almost four o´clock. I have to go out of the cabin the main deck. I think I have to be a little bit more confident that we will find land soon.
